The Danish-developed blockchain protocol Concordium has launched its blockchain, which makes it possible to enter into complicated contracts and transfer large amounts without brokers, lawyers, bankers, and other third parties.<\/span>

The Danish-developed blockchain protocol\u00a0<\/span>Concordium<\/a>, led by Lars Seier Christensen and Lone F\u00f8nss Schr\u00f8der, has launched its blockchain, which makes it possible to enter into complicated contracts and transfer large amounts without brokers, lawyers, bankers, and other third parties.<\/p>\n

One of Concordium\u2019s main visions is to create a technical and organizational setup that can\u00a0meet regulatory requirements including those related to \u2018Know your customer\u2019 (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML). While all transactions can be executed anonymously, they will be tied up in an identity that is secured via a so-called identity provider. In case of a legal investigation, this identity can then be revealed.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The non-profit organization Concordium Foundation is based in Switzerland, but most of the development takes place at Concordium in Aarhus.<\/span><\/p>\n

Five of Mj\u00f8lner\u2019s\u00a0<\/span>mobile developers<\/a>\u00a0and one\u00a0<\/span>UX consultant<\/a>\u00a0have worked on the\u00a0<\/span>app<\/a>\u00a0project in close dialogue with Concordium\u2019s team at Aarhus University.<\/span><\/p>\n

Concordium has run a number of testnets during 2020, including the preliminary versions of the wallet developed by Mj\u00f8lner, and launched the blockchain in the second quarter of 2021.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Concordium is a science-based proof-of-stake blockchain created with business applications in mind. It is the first blockchain with identification built into the protocol to meet regulatory requirements, while delivering a user-friendly platform that can handle smart contracts.<\/span>
Concordium is developed by professionals with global multi-sector experience and in collaboration with the Concordium Blockchain Research Center Aarhus (COBRA) at Aarhus University and Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH). The network will eventually be fully decentralized, the code open source, and further development orchestrated through an advanced governance mechanism.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
