THE CHALLENGE
Cashmaster chooses TouchGFX to be an important tool as they move towards creating “The Cashmaster One range” with a modern interface that reflects current trends for a richer user experience. The main functionalities of “The One Range” are selection of count mode, count of a till with different count types and denominations, stored data.
Cashmaster is a global designer and manufacturer of cash management solutions. Based in Scotland, their customer base extends to leading supermarkets, restaurants, banks, and convenience stores, across the world.
Cashmaster’s cash counting products are weight-based and help their customers minimize cost, save time, and reduce cash loss.
EFFECTIVE DEVELOPMENT ACROSS THE NORTH SEA
Cashmaster’s TouchGFX License has been an important tool in their strategy to move towards a more modern, user-friendly and customer -focussed interface on their cash management products.
“We are delighted with TouchGFX. It has helped us unlock the graphical user interface (GUI) performance of our hardware of choice, which we believe will help us to deliver a more engaging user experience.”
In order to complete the proof of concept stage, Cashmaster combined their TouchGFX license with our UI Prototype-package. Our experts put their TouchGFX expertise to good use and implemented the prototype at our headquarters in Denmark.
A startup, status and delivery meeting – all held virtually – and some structured correspondence was all it took. Cashmaster had their proof of concept completed in line with their schedule, all done across the North Sea.
“The process of getting from our UI design files to a working demo on our preferred hardware was very smooth. The Mjølner team’s expertise was absolutely integral to this and allowed us to meet our schedule.”
Team working closely together to map out the project.
ACHIEVING THE RIGHT TOUCH
The development of the proof of concept was successful, with all desired functionalities and features fulfilled. The next stage was to move from prototype to the final designed UI which would reflect Cashmaster’s goals to produce a truly market-leading, highly intuitive user experience.
Over the course of our two-day User Interface Concept workshop, a collaborative workshop which brings together Mjølner’s and the customer’s teams – we co-created everything Cashmaster needed to build a modern and intuitive interface to deliver the step-change in user experience Cashmaster was focussed on. At the workshop Cashmaster and Mjølner representatives worked closely together in order to achieve a new digital experience to match customer needs.
“The Mjølner team’s expertise complimented our team’s skills and experience . Their user-centred approach was highly engaging and effective.”
Gordon McKie, CEO, Cashmaster
At the workshop, we came to a definite concept scope, created a general structure and flow of the interface, and explored the style and tone of the graphical design. Cashmaster then returned to Scotland and awaited their first delivery. Our Digital Designer and User Experience Consultant received valuable feedback from Cashmaster over two sessions and then completed the concept, including finished graphics, and delivered to Cashmaster just a few weeks after the workshop.
